Embracing Life after Pet Loss by Annalise Paige Quinn on Amazon

An Invaluable book on dealing with loss of a cat.

This book helped me “tremendously” dealing with the grief of the loss of my cat (my baby and companion). I had him for 14 years, he was my constant companion for the past 6 years working from home. I resonated with all the thoughts and feelings in this book. Her words validated all I was feeling and going through. The advice she gave on how to memorialize your cat was perfect, I had already done some of her suggestions prior to reading the book and wondered if I was going overboard; she helped me to see I wasn’t. I will definitely forward this book to someone I know dealing with the loss of their cat knowing it will help them through the loss as it has me. Thank you Annalise.

Comforting Book for your Children

The book “Gentle Goodbyes For Kids’ Tender Hearts” is a much needed book for children and their parents. I have had pets most of my life, and when my daughter lost her first dog and first cat, it was so hard to explain. This truly compassionate book has advice and activities to help with grief and painful thoughts.
Chapter six discusses the misconceptions on how children grieve, and I agree with all of it. The author did a considerable amount of research to carefully explain this.
In chapter nine, dealing with a sudden loss is really good. My niece’s horse did not die, but her mom gave the horse away in one day, and my niece did not get to say goodbye. My niece is still talking about that to this day, and how deeply it affected her and how sad it made her. We need to respect the feelings of our children. Pets are so important to them, and they often love the more than we can imagine.
Finally, chapter 26, with the pet loss activities, are such a good idea. We will be using these.
Having resilience tools, that supports your children, is invaluable. Highly recommend this book!

A great book for young children

My mother in law bought this for my son when our dog Rex passed. Rex’s passing crushed my son but this journal gave him a gentle place to explore his feelings. He drew Rex, listed favorite fetching toys, and proudly shared each memory page. The quick activities turned scary grief into manageable moments and the letter he wrote even made me tear up! This is such a warm, kid-friendly tool for any family facing a first pet loss.
